Objectives

The objectives of the Society shall be:

1. to work for the general advancement of biochemistry, molecular biology and the related sciences in the country;
2. to promote and encourage research in different fields of biochemical sciences and to help in the development of these at the national and international level;
3. to work for ensuring ethical, scientific and social values in the conduct of teaching and research in the biochemistry, molecular biology and the related fields;
4. to organize conferences, symposia, seminars, workshops, meetings and field studies;
5. to award fellowships and financial grants for promotion of research subject to the availability of funds;
6. to publish Pakistan Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, newsletter, books and other publications for dissemination of knowledge in the field of biochemistry, molecular biology and the related sciences;
7. to promote and safeguard the interest of the Fellows and the Members;
8. to participate in the regional and internationl organisations for the promotion of teaching and research in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology;
9. to secure, administer and raise funds, grants and endowments for the realization of the above objectives and
10. To undertake all such other activities as may assist in promoting the cause of the above objectives.
